MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC), the leading global advertising and marketing services group, today announced the appointment of Keki Dadiseth as the Non-Executive Chairman of Omnicom Group Inc. in India.

Working with Michael Birkin, Omnicom’s Asia Pacific CEO, Mr. Dadiseth will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for Omnicom’s expansion in India. Over many years, Mr. Dadiseth has built a highly distinguished reputation as a director of numerous Indian quoted companies as well as Unilever PLC and NV, and Prudential plc. “India has become increasingly important to Omnicom,” said John Wren, President and CEO of Omnicom Group Inc. “We continue to grow our brands to meet the needs of our clients in this key market. We are delighted to have someone of Keki’s ability and experience to drive our strategy.”

Omnicom globally comprises the industry’s most award-winning advertising brands — BBDO, DDB and TBWA, specialist media-buying companies OMD and PHD, and the Diversified Agency Services group (“DAS”). Through its networks, the group serves many multinational and local clients in India.

“I am delighted to be joining Omnicom, the world’s leading communications group,” said Mr. Dadiseth. “Omnicom has built an extraordinary reputation in the industry for its commitment to excellence and creativity. Omnicom agencies’ breadth of expertise and depth of talent provide unparalleled marketing solutions to clients around the world. I am greatly looking forward to working with the leadership of the group and its agencies to ensure that we continue to anticipate and meet our clients’ needs in India.”

Mr. Dadiseth recently retired from Unilever PLC and Unilever NV where he had been a Board Director for five years. Prior to this, Mr. Dadiseth had been the Chairman of Hindustan Lever — the culmination of a long and highly successful career at the company.

In India, Mr. Dadiseth is closely associated with various industry, educational, management and medical bodies. He is a Trustee of the Ratan Tata Trust and a member of the International Advisory Board of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. He is also an International Advisor to Goldman Sachs. Mr. Dadiseth is a Director of Prudential plc and The Indian School of Business.
